As technology changes, so does the need for useable work surfaces, incorporating the latest gadgets, while maximising space in open plan work environments. These days, tablets and smart devices are part of a typical working day and must be considered in any office fitout.
Part of the Colebrook Bosson Saunders ergonomic customised product range, and designed to mount to any of their monitor arm supports, this tablet and laptop holder epitomises the clean lines and adaptable features these products are known for. They allow the user to quickly fit any tablet to their working area, connect to a second display screen, and enjoy multi-screen functionality.
At the start of the design process, we focused on the tablet user and a typical working day at the office. Then, we selected each element for user efficiency, quality and visual enhancement.
For the main support, we used aluminium to create a thick solid feel, while minimising weight. To reduce any damage of tablets, a flat rubber mat sits on the support, aiding the positioning of the tablet with the connecting holder and tablet faces, while the central bottom cut away allows easy-access charging via an integrated cable management detail which forms part of the design of the mat, also keeps charging cables away from any users.
A central lever lock can accommodate various tablet thicknesses and sizes, as well as portrait or landscape mounting. The underside lever has a rubber moulding, designed to aid the holding position and preventing marks on the tablet.
The holders can be moved into a range of positions to suit any user, and have been installed by TCW, a supplier of international furniture products for various contemporary office spaces throughout Australia. These were supplied in the newly developed building at 200 George Street, Sydney, Australia by Mirvac, an Australian property group.Go Back
